The role
The UQ Art Museum's Education area aims to conceive and deliver provocative, relevant and inventive educational programs and strategies which underpin the Art Museum's creative mission. The Education area seeks to catalyse critical engagement and discourse with art in each of the University's multiple disciplines and teaching areas.
The Education and Public Programs Officer collaborates with and supports the Senior Education Manager to strategically plan and implement these educational initiatives. Key domains of responsibility include partnering with UQ's diverse academic community to devise, develop and implement transdisciplinary artistic, educational and public programming. The successful candidate must bring significant vision and imagination to this role as well as the pragmatism to be able to deliver projects. The position holder will be a consummate collaborator and communicator. He or she will be an ambassador for the UQ Art Museum and its innovative, creative direction. This role does require a commitment to undertaking work out of normal hours with regards to programming for the unit.
The person
You must hold a recognised tertiary qualification in Art History or Visual Arts and/or extensive experience in curatorial and/or art museum education practice.
The applicant must also have a demonstrated track record of providing the intellectual, creative and operational direction required to develop, plan and present a diverse range of innovative and visionary educational programs in an art museum context with a meticulous attention to detail.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
Remuneration
This is a continuing appointment at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be $74,207 - $79,964, plus employer superannuation contributions.
