Job Details
You will work across the three main areas of activity, including Health and Safety, Buildings and Facilities and Technical Services, to support three functional managers in delivering an efficient and effective service to support teaching and research activity within the Faculty of Biological Sciences.
You will have responsibility for a range of administrative tasks including record keeping, spreadsheet interrogation, data input, updating web based documents and monitoring compliance. You will act as first port of call for information relating to activities across these areas, including access arrangements, Health and Safety training data, equipment maintenance and service records, staff location and room occupancy as well as fault reporting. You will develop and routinely update a range of information guidelines based on our agreed practices. You will also work flexibly and move to various areas to cover for colleagues and support other tasks, such as key allocation and equipment identification.
As you will have daily contact with a wide range of stakeholders, you should have an approachable and professional manner, along with good communication and team working skills. You should also be able to identify a range of common laboratory equipment. The role will involve some moderately heavy work, but we will provide full training.
