Responsibilities

The Application Engineer will be a part of a great open environment, with a team of experts in coatings application. This position will focus on projects and activities that improve customer quality, cost, and/or productivity that provide measureable results and value for the customer. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a structured and cohesive product launch process.
• Develop and support implementation of process improvement focused on effectively bringing product to market.
• Trouble-shoot and problem-solve launches and critical product performance issues.
• Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perception
• Problem-solve (analyse data, determine root causes, develop implementation plans) and resolve issues which are affecting quality Prioritize projects.
• Interface with Product Management & Technology as needed to resolve issues, implement improvements, and communicate status & customer coating needs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of paint formulating and color theory.
• Should have 3-5 years' experience in one of the following areas: paint robotics and applications automotive paint process, or automotive paint quality management.
• Demonstrated success in resolving problems in coatings applications.
• Ability to understand and teach color theory and measurement.
• Knowledge of paint/coating system controls, delivery systems, and quality control monitoring systems.
• Demonstrated ability to identity and eliminate coatings defect.
• Experience in commercializing products and best practice in process.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Results focused and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Self-motivated, team player.
