Job Details

The Institut des Sciences Chimiques de Rennes (ISCR), belonging to the CNRS and Université de Rennes 1, is one of the leading European Research Centres that combines fundamental and applied research in different areas relevant to the Chemical Sciences.

The “Organometallics: Materials and Catalysis” Laboratory has a Postdoc position available for an outstanding candidate to perform research in the area of supramolecular catalysis under the guidance of Dr. R.
Gramage-Doria. The project will focus at the interface of ligand design, supramolecular chemistry and transition metal catalysis.[1-3] The ultimate goal of the project is to implement nature-inspired weak interactions
in transition metal catalysis to tackle important issues that traditional approaches have difficulties to address; for example, substrate/product inhibition, substrate selectivity, etc. The project is supported by the
“Stratégie d’Attractivité Durable” from Region Bretagne, which aims to boost promising young research groups. The position is expected to be filled by 1st May 2017 for one-year period.

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in supramolecular (organic) chemistry, coordination chemistry and/or homogeneous catalysis.
Experience in metalloporphyrin chemistry (NMR and UV-vis binding studies) and Schlenk techniques are advantageous. The candidate has to be a non-French citizen or a French citizen that has spent more than a year abroad. An excellent level of written and spoken English is requisite (French is not required). Since the ISCR is an equal opportunity employer, women are particularly encouraged to apply.

We offer a challenging Postdoc position with an excellent international environment at the ISCR. Salary is in conformity with public service rates of the French universities. The ISCR provides state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to provide a rewarding career.

Complete applications in a single pdf file (CV, cover letter, recommendation letters, contact information from previous supervisors and research overview) can be sent to: rafael.gramage-doria@univ-rennes1.fr.
