The Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine is searching for a neurologist with subspecialty training in epilepsy to join the Stanford Comprehensive Epilepsy Program. Appointment will be in the Clinician Educator line at the Clinical Assistant Professor level. The major criteria for appointment for Clinician Educators shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, and institutional service, appropriate to the programmatic needs. Clinical research is encouraged, but is not the primary focus of the position. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to interact across the wide range of clinical, translational and basic science programs offered at Stanford. 

The Stanford Comprehensive Epilepsy Program offers the perks of an established academic program, working with residents and fellows, with ample opportunities for teaching and research, not to mention the opportunity to live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area. Current adult epilepsy faculty comprises Drs. Robert Fisher, Kimford Meador, Kevin Graber, Scheherazade Le, Babak Razavi, Jessica Walter and Martha Morrell. There is additionally a large pediatric epilepsy/EEG Division and world-class epilepsy research labs. 

 

Responsibilities will include 5 half-day epilepsy clinics per week (amount is negotiable if there are other sources of support), occasional attending in the epilepsy monitoring unit, reading of EEGs and video-EEGs and clinical research. Candidates should have fellowship training in epilepsy and EEG, should be eligible for a California medical license and board certified or eligible for certification in neurology. ABPN subspecialty Board certification or eligibility either in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology or the ABPN Boards is an advantage.
