Situated in the heart of the legal precinct, the Auckland Law School has strong links to the legal profession and the judiciary. It’s ranked one of the best law schools in the world in the QS World University Rankings, and is the largest in New Zealand, with an international reputation for academic excellence.

The School aspires to provide a complete legal education, preparing students for legal practice as well as many other careers in an internationalised world. Its thriving undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offer the largest range of courses of any law faculty in New Zealand and attract high calibre students. The School enjoys excellent international links.

Applications are invited for the position of Student Academic and Support Adviser (Pacific). The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of quality student support services (admission, academic and pastoral) to Pacific law students in the Law School as well as professional advice and guidance to the School concerning the needs of its Pacific students.  In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to facilitate effective liaison and relationship-building within the School and university, with Secondary Schools, and with Pacific individuals, groups and organizations within the community.

The successful applicant will possess a relevant Bachelor’s degree, have considerable experience in administrative support, strong communication skills and computer proficiency including the use of Microsoft Office applications. The person appointed will need to display excellent planning and organisation skills, show initiative in solving problems and be able to multitask. A mature understanding of students’ educational needs within the tertiary setting, patience in trying to meet those needs, and an efficient approach to organization and administration, would be desirable.
