Reporting to: CEO

We are looking for a dynamic and versatile Operations Manager to join our close-knit team. We are an Oxford based company running an international jobs board for academics and researchers. We work out of a small office in the centre of Oxford. The contract is a 12 month maternity cover, but with the hope that business expansion would enable it to become a permanent position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-today operations of the business: administration, HR, office space, equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain the bookkeeping processes using Sage One (online) and Insightly CRM.
  • Manage the job uploads process and be able to provide cover in case of absence/holiday.
  • Manage and support the sales team to process new clients.
  • Monitor and review supplier agreements and performance.
  • Be the first port of call for incoming calls and enquiries.
  • Other tasks as required.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of managing the workflows of a team.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping; including payables, receivables, banking and VAT returns.
  • Experience of report writing; both financial and non-financial.
  • Experience of the digital space desirable.
  • Confident working with a fast-paced team.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Other skills that would be of interest include languages, a background in digital marketing or computer science, writing or research. If you have any of these or anything else you feel you can offer, please make sure you mention them with your application.

 

Salary and advantages

  • £26,000 per annum
  • 22 days holiday entitlement, plus bank holidays. 3 days of holiday are to be used for our annual Christmas close down.
