The role

The successful candidate will contribute to research on the study properties of fluids using theoretical and computational methods. They will develop close scientific collaboration with other members of the laboratory and assume a leadership role in theoretical and computational molecular science. Additionally the candidate will provide written and verbal reports (inclusive of manuscript submissions) on outputs associated with the project, inclusive of associated data analyses and assist in the supervision and training of research higher degree students.

The person

Applicants must have a PhD in physics, chemistry, mathematics or chemical engineering. Applicants should have demonstrated knowledge in the theory of nonequilibrium systems and molecular dynamics simulations and have highly developed skills in computational molecular science and analysis of data. An ability to establish effective relationships and to represent and promote computational molecular science at a university and wider community level, as well as demonstrated experience in development of computer code for scientific research and evidence of contributions to research (including publications and external grant applications) will be highly regarded. Experience in the simulation of polymers are desirable.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 12 months at Research Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $75,557 - $87,535 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $88,401 - $102,416. p.a.).
