We currently have an amazing opportunity for an individual with excellent customer service skills to join our Student Academic Services and Engagement Team in the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries. The Student Academic Advisor is responsible for providing advice and support to applicants and students regarding enrolment, admissions, academic progress and completion.

If you have experience providing first-class customer service, are friendly, engaging with great interpersonal and communication skills, and have strong administrative abilities then this could be the perfect opportunity to develop your career.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for escalated and in-person student queries
  • Provide advice and support to students to assist with all aspects of enrolment, academic progress, pastoral care, and degree planning
  • Undertake recruitment activities and provide support and advice for potential students
  • Coordinate admissions and enrolment processing
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills through relationship management, advocacy and negotiation
  • Practise a high level of customer service ensuring efficient and accurate execution of service deliverables
  • Work collaboratively toward continuous improvement

Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in an environment requiring high levels of customer service delivery
  • Experience of understanding equity issues in New Zealand
  • Strong experience working as part of a team
  • Confidence in highly regulated environments
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong problem solving ability
