Applications are invited for a research technician to work in the field of cardiac research in the Department of Physiology, University of Auckland.

The opportunity

  • In this role, you will perform supervised pre-clinical experimental research on projects related to diabetic cardiomyopathy and heart failure.
  • Experience in the field of autophagy and technical expertise in molecular biology, cell culture, and isolated heart preparations is highly desired.
  • We are looking for an eager and enthusiastic scientist who has undertaken an Honours or Masters in Physiology or a related-discipline.

This position could be a great foot-in-the-door opportunity with the Department of Physiology, reporting to renowned academic Dr Kimberley Mellor. It is available on a 12 month fixed term basis, at Professional Staff Level 4.
