Corporate Governance Manager and Assistant Clerk to the Board

The University of Wolverhampton is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled professional in the area of Corporate Governance. 

The University Secretary Directorate is responsible for overseeing the legal, governance and strategic operation of the University ensuring that the University remains compliant with UK and International law and governance best practice whilst coordinating the agreed strategic direction of the University and monitoring performance against our corporate targets.

As Corporate Governance Manager you will ensure that the University’s governance structures operate efficiently and in accordance with the University’s Statutes, Bye-Laws and Policies, guidance from CUC, UK (and where appropriate international) law, academic regulations, and in accordance with the best practice.

With highly developed communication skills, you will work closely with the Vice-Chancellor and Senior Team, the Chair of the Board of Governors, and will act as a first point of contact for Governors of the University. You will be responsible for coordinating all Governor level committees including drafting agendas, minute taking, action follow up and appropriate archiving of decisions and papers. In addition, you will act as Deputy Clerk to the Board.

You will offer a high level of skills and experience including attention to detail, ability to provide clear and concise advice regarding governance issues, experience of reviewing and drafting policies and reports, and the ability to identify problems and develop solutions. You will also be required to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
