UQ Biological Resources (UQBR) is a UQ organisation responsible for delivering work class services to UQ Researchers involved in research using laboratory animals.
We are currently advertising for an Information and Processes Coordinator (HEW 6) position within UQ Biological Resources, based at Long pocket.
The roleThe primary purpose of the Information and Processes Coordinator position will be to ensure Compliance with the Code of Practice for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes that underpins the majority of funding involved in animal research; Review operational processes within UQBR animal facilities; Manage the Information Technology needs of the UQBR Animal Facilities, including administration, management and provide user training of the Animal Management database.
This position involves a high level of responsibility in a significant administration and technical role, requiring a range of information management and quality assurance skills and experience.
Medical Clearance: Working with laboratory animals is an inherent requirement of the position. Your appointment is therefore subject to, and conditional upon, satisfactory medical clearance(s), including disclosure of relevant medical history, to undertake such work without unreasonable risk to your health and safety. In addition, the Employee is required to fully comply with necessary ongoing health monitoring procedures and control measures associated with the position.
The person Applicants should possess qualifications and experience in relevant disciplines, thorough understanding of research using animals and the need for quality data collection and manipulation, extensive experience in managing and maintaining databases, and in training users. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders are essential. RemunerationThis is a full-time, 3 years fixed term appointment at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $74,207.07 - $79,964.50 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $86,822.27 - $93,558.47 p.a.).
