Job Details
Job Purpose
The research fellow will work on power systems protection and control of power grids using real-time power grid simulator, establish test bed for cyber-physical power grid systems, and develop test scenarios and validating cyber security methods and algorithms.
The successful candidate will be expected to actively interact with industry project partner
Person Specification
- A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline or about to complete a PhD degree.
- A good first degree (First or 2.1) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in ICT technologies applications in power systems and smart grids.
- Essential experience in using real-time power grid simulator, developing testing bed for power system control, communications and computer networking, and interacting with power industry partners.
- Desirable experience in using FPGA programming for power system simulations and control
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines.
- Good project management skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
