The Stem Cell Engineering group focuses on functional genomics approaches for a range of neurological diseases using CRISPR based genome editing and gene expression manipulation technologies in human induced pluripotent stem cells. In this 2 year project the successful applicant will be investigating molecular determinants of early lineage differentiation.

The role

The successful appointee will perform research in induced pluripotent stem cell biology, CRISPR engineer reporters and use CRISPRa/I approaches to manipulate early lineage differentiation trajectories. In this role, the appointee will utilise a novel in vitro teratoma platform, and perform transcriptome and functional analysis of generated cell types.

The person

Applicants must have a PhD in Stem Cell (pluripotent, iPSC) Biology, Molecular Biology, Genome Engineering or scRNAseq. You should also have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Stem cell culture; Cutting-edge Molecular biology techniques; CRISPR genome engineering; or Endoderm differentiation. An ability to establish effective relationships coupled with strong motivation, the ability to work independently, design/interpret experiments, excellent organisational skills and a commitment to the full 2 year term will be highly regarded. Demonstrated experience with high-end microscopy and imaging tools as well as acquisition and analysys of RNAseq and scRNAseq data sets are desirable.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for two (2) years at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $75,557 - $87,535 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $88,401 - $102,416 p.a.).
