Job Details

Are you an early career researcher looking for your first challenge? Do you have a background in medical imaging? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

You will carry out routine imaging at the the Experimental and Preclinical Imaging Centre (ePIC) which is a British Heart Foundation funded preclinical imaging facility that opened in January 2017. The facility has the latest generation of multi-modal imaging equipment, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) 7 Tesla, positron emission tomography (PET) / single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/computed tomography (CT), optical imaging, ultrasound and micro computed tomography (µCT).

Working closely with a multi-disciplinary research team, including medical physicists with particular expertise in MRI, clinicians and basic scientists, you will support research programmes at ePIC. With a focus on the application of µCT and MR imaging, you will primarily carry out cardiovascular imaging using murine/rat models although other disease models will also be included.

You will have a BSc and Masters (or equivalents) in Medical Imaging or a closely allied discipline and direct practical experience of preclinical MR and µCT scanning. A Home Office Personal license (Modules 1-4) is also essential.
