The discipline of Mathematics is located in the School of Mathematics and Physics in the Faculty of Science. It is the leading provider of applied mathematical and statistical education in Queensland, with extensive undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (MPhil and PhD) and coursework. The Discipline is internationally recognised for its research excellence and hosts a number of first-class research centres. The role

The position is linked to an ARC research project on modelling tissue morphology. The successful appointee will carry out research on computational modeling of tissue morphology resulting from mechanical interactions between cells. There is the possibility for collaboration with experimental groups at the UQ Institute for Molecular Biosciences and for participating in international research collaboration in the US.

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in the area of Mathematics/Physics with a specialization in Applied/Computational mathematics, expert knowledge in the area of Mathematical Biology, and evidence of contribution to research, including publication of research in peer-reviewed journals.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for two years at Academic Research Level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,545.80 - $87,535.13 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,408.59 - $102,416.10 p.a.).
