Job Details
We have the following full-time postdoctoral research positions available within the group of Professor Peter Cullen at the University of Bristol, UK:
Position 1 (This position): Biochemical analysis of retriever assembly
Position 2 (ACAD102677): Identifying the molecular components of the retriever coat complex
Funded through an MRC programme grant, the research focuses on the lab’s recent identification of a highly conserved multi-protein complex termed retriever, that functions as a molecular machine for controlling the retromer-independent endosome-to-plasma membrane recycling of numerous integral membrane proteins following their endocytosis (including integrins, adhesion molecules and nutrient transporters / sensors). Through multi-disciplinary and collaborative research, you will seek to define retriever’s function in health and disease, with a particular focus on an emerging role in neuroprotection.
You will have a relevant PhD (or will soon be awarded at PhD), experience in relevant experimental techniques, strong motivation and a strong publication record. Each position is available for 5 years.
Informal enquiries are welcomed at Pete.Cullen@bristol.ac.uk
Closing Date: midnight, Sunday 18 June 2017
The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
