The Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI) is taking a leading role in teaching and learning professional education and innovation. ITaLI is an integrated teaching, research and service delivery centre for teaching and learning practices at UQ. ITaLI seeks to establish and maintain a flexible operating structure to drive and support innovation and excellence.

Directed by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) [PVC(T&L)], ITaLI provides leadership, engagement and advocacy in educational innovation, teaching excellence and learning analytics, and aims to transform teaching and learning across the University through the delivery of faculty and executive prioritised, teaching and learning projects and services. ITaLI addresses critical areas of unmet need in teaching and learning by bridging the gap between the exponentially-expanding discipline of higher education teaching and the increasing complexity of teaching to assist University teaching staff and improve the learning experience of students.  

The role

The Project Manager, Student Strategy, supports the implementation of the UQ Student Strategy by managing and delivering various projects within the ITaLI Student Strategy Program Office using structured project management approaches.

  • The planning and definition of projects

  • Project teams and/or resources

  • The delivery of projects against plans

  • Project change and communication

  • Governance and decision making processes

  • Project risk mitigation strategies and issue action plans

  • The tracking, forecasting and reporting of project progress

The person

The ideal candidate will have Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive relevant experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.

In addition, you will have experience successfully project managing various medium to large projects including effectively managing stakeholders, demonstrated knowledge of relevant project management tools or equivalent practical methodologies for monitoring project progress, and excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to be adaptive and innovative in developing and pursuing solutions.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 3 years at HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,811 – $104,214 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $108,589 – $121,930 p.a.).
