Lecturer - Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Interior Design

Responsibilities

The incumbent will required to:

• Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the programmes of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Interior Design;

• Participate in the Department’s community service programmes;

• Act as study leader /supervisor for postgraduate students as necessary.

• Assist with academic administration and other duties as determined by the HoD

Minimum Requirements

The requirements for the post are outlined below:

• Master’s degree in Architecture or equivalent OR a Baccalaureus in Architecture plus appropriate experience;

• Registered or registerable at SACAP as a Professional Architect or other comparable international professional council;

• A minimum of five (5) years proven practice experience;

• Good computer skills (CAD related);

• Appropriate language and communication skills;

• Undertaking to further own academic qualifications.

Recommendations

• Appropriate previous tertiary teaching experience;

• Familiarity with Revit.

• Urban design experience

• Willingness to undertake research and academic publication.

Notes

The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of qualification and experience, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to BESTMED and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
