Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and well-motivated technician to provide technical support to our rapidly expanding optical fibre fabrication and characterisation activities. The successful candidate will join a world leading team of approximately 20 researchers and students focussing on the development of hollow core optical fibres with diverse applications in telecommunications, lasers and sensing. Applicants should have a strong technical support background, ideally with experience in optical fibre fabrication and/or the handling and characterisation of optical fibres. However, we are also open to applications from those with hands-on technical experience in any aspect of optical/mechanical component manufacturing.  

Salary will be up to £28,452 depending on experience and the post will be for up to 3 years in duration in the first instance, with strong prospects for further extension depending on performance.
