Job Details
Reporting to the Tax and Finance Compliance Manager, you will influence and monitor compliance with University Finance policies, procedures and processes. This involves:
-
Completing monthly Finance in-house compliance tests;
-
Encouraging, promoting and educating the University Finance Community on policies and procedures;
-
Investigating potential breaches of Finance Policies;
-
Completing and reviewing the quarterly Unusual Transaction Analysis (UTA) finance tests;
-
Administer the loading, assignment and completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations; and
-
Provide support to the Tax and Finance Compliance Manager and the Group Financial Controller.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

Good knowledge of internal controls;

Excellent written and oral communication skills;

Strong customer service skills with the ability to easily build relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders;

Self-starter with a focus on process improvement;

Superior analytical skills;

Solution driven;

Ability to meet regular and demanding deadlines;

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a major in accounting;

Working towards membership with a professional accounting institute (Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand or equivalent);

High standard of computer literacy with advanced Excel skills;
-
Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials and previous experience of working in large complex organisations is an advantage.
