Job Description

Keen to join a Marketing and Communications team with a truly international focus?

Enjoy writing, proofing and editing print and digital copy destined for varied communication channels and diverse audiences?

Enthusiastic about developing innovative, targeted international marketing collateral and creating compelling online content? Experience with content marketing?

The International Office is responsible for developing and implementing the international strategy to attract students from around the world to study at The University of Auckland. Reporting to the International Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the International Office’s marketing communications. This fast-paced role will see you maintaining and managing print and web based marketing communications, managing processes and developing content to align with the University’s brand guidelines and our international strategy. You will also contribute to maintaining the International section of the intranet and manage conversion campaigns.

Person Specification

Success will be measured through your ability to develop content for a wide range of communications and diverse audiences. You will be experienced in taking briefs and have practical research skills combined with initiative, a calm disposition, resilience and strong organisational and relationship management skills.

Based in New Zealand, you will be tertiary qualified in Communications or a relevant discipline and ideally will have a minimum of 2 years Communications experience within a large multifaceted organisation, whilst managing expectations of stakeholders. Preference will be given to candidates from the education sector.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate advanced proficiency in written and oral English language communication skills. Proficiency across the MS suite of packages will be required for this position, and a working knowledge of InDesign will be advantageous but not essential. Candidates with excellent time management, knowledge and expertise in using CRM and content management systems will hit the ground running.

This is a busy team and requires candidates to have a flexible and proactive approach to their working environment as no two days are the same. You will be known as a go-to person with impeccable writing and editing skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

This is a great opportunity to work in a flexible environment where your work will make a difference. Some offshore travelling may be required, and conversational fluency in another language would be advantageous but not essential. The University is committed to meeting its obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi and achieving equity outcomes for staff and students in a safe, inclusive and equitable environment. For further information on services for Māori, Pacific, women, LGBTI, equity groups, parenting support and flexible work go to www.equity.auckland.ac.nz.
