My client is a leading consultancy in structural engineering, who, due to increased work-load, is looking for ambitious Structural Engineers to join their business at a both Senior and Principal level, with aspirations to move into a Director position in future.

Responsibilities include:

• Carrying out feasibility, scheme and detailed designs of building structures in the primary structural materials.
• Completing calculations for purposes of Building Control and third party Approval.
• Producing drawing and detailing information in conjunction with Revit/CAD technician support.
• Attending design team meetings and site inspection visits.
• Completing Structural Engineer Inspection reports for a wide variety of building types.
• Completing RIBA stage reports for various building structures.

The ideal candidate will have:

• CEng (chartered) accreditation with with the IStructE and/or the ICE.
• At least six years design experience in structural engineering consultancy.
• Experience in refurbishments is essential.
• Strong knowledge in the design and detailing of building structures using steelwork, concrete, masonry and timber.
• Experience in completing design calculations to Eurocodes as well as British Standards.
• Excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to working and genuine enthusiasm for the built environment and construction techniques.
• A strong ability to understand and clearly communicate design ideas and construction details and practices to colleagues and outside parties.
