Take a Step into Management in a Good Local Authority

A Local Authority which has recently received a "Good" Ofsted is looking to take on Senior Practitioners who can contribute to operational management as well as carry a small and controlled caseload. The dual nature of the role provides the optimal platform for career driven Social Workers who are looking to take the step up into management. The vacancies are a result of the LA's Elected Members approving significant investment to ensure caseloads remain manageable and Social Workers receive regular support.

Working in the 4th most ethnically diverse Local Authority in the UK your role will be quite diverse; you will be supporting and developing junior colleagues and as a subject matter expert you will also be holding a small caseload. Currently average caseloads within the LAC service are around 12, which is extremely low for the region. Caseloads have remained at the level for some time, which emphasises the continued commitment from management to make sure that workloads stay controlled and staff are not having to work long hours and weekends to stay on top of their work.

Essential Experience Required:

• Experience within a LAC team
• Court Work Experience

Desired Experience:

• Experience as a Senior Practitioner
• Experience of supervising staff
• Enabling Others Qualification

Those candidates who haven't got any experience of managing staff are encouraged to apply as you will be given all the training and development you need. You will have access to a training budget which you will be able to use to attend a range of courses offered by affiliated universities which will only to serve to improve your CPD and future employability.
