Job Details

The Department of Management at the University of Bristol (part of the School of Economics, Finance and Management) is seeking to appoint a chair in organisation studies to complement its existing expertise in the field and contribute to the exciting new developments and growth in the school, department and university.

The successful candidate will provide strong academic leadership in both research and teaching and will have a track record of publishing consistently at the highest levels and of securing research funding and wider research impact. They will also be able to provide excellent teaching and programme development at all levels.

We are especially interested in candidates who adopt an inter-disciplinary, social science-based approach to organisation and management and whose interests complement existing and emerging research and teaching areas within and beyond the school (e.g. innovation, public management and other fields). The department is currently expanding, with 12 new staff, including four new chairs just appointed and new programmes being developed at all levels.

Working in tandem with the University’s new strategy, we will together take a unique approach to tackling the big issues triggered by globalisation, inequality, environmental and social sustainability and entrepreneurialism. This is a rare opportunity to be in the vanguard of unprecedented expansion at a world-class university.

The closing date for applications is midnight on 11th August 2017. The proposed start date is the 1st of September 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.

For informal enquiries, please contact Professor Jon Beaverstock (Head of School) (telephone Katie Black, PA on: 0117 92 88419 or e-mail katie.black@bristol.ac.uk.
