The University is seeking Chairs in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture and Construction to join the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning and its Graduate School, the Melbourne School of Design.

The Faculty is amongst the top twenty in the world in the built environment and home to a vibrant community of staff and students working across the fields of Architecture, Construction, Landscape Architecture, Property, Urban and Cultural Heritage, Urban Design and Urban Planning. It has an alumni community of 13,000 graduates from more than 60 countries and is located in its captivating new building designed by John Wardle and Nader Tehrani.

The Chair of Urban Planning will provide outstanding leadership and vision within their field; candidates will bring a distinguished background in research, policy and/or practice and possess outstanding leadership qualities demonstrated through leading the creation of a world class research program or equivalent. A demonstrated commitment to educating the next generation of practitioners and academics will be key. The Chair will contribute to building a high calibre Master of Urban Planning program as well as leading the undergraduate pathway for urban planning. Furthermore, the Chair will influence and stimulate public debate and policy through engagement with local and international professional communities and furthering links with government, industry and the profession. The Chair will be collaborative in style with a demonstrated history of successfully supervising and mentoring early and mid-career academics.
