RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be responsible for assisting and managing the contract between UP Family Medicine Gauteng DOH for the implementation of COPC and AITA Health this includes:

  • Manage the training for all districts.

  • Liaise with district management and WBOT structures in all the districts in Gauteng

  • Liaise with service providers: Mezzanine  to ensure that AITA health is functional 

  • Liaise with service providers: Mezzanine and Wellnicity to ensure that data from the project is well managed and made available to the users, supervisors and managers at different levels 

  • Support family physicians, doctors, managers and team leaders in the practical implementation of COPC and AITA Health

  • Organise and manage a data review process with participation from all the districts

  • Participate in the development and upgrading of AITA Health.

  • Participate in the development and executing of research related to the implementation of COPC and AITA Health.

  • Participate in the teaching of undergraduate and post-graduate students

The incumbent will also render clinical services while working alongside students and at other times in order to maintain and improve own clinical skills. The incumbent will be expected to stay up to date with medical knowledge and new developments in the field of Primary Health Care as applicable to COPC and AITA Health.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • MMed Family Medicine

  • Fellowship of the College of Family Physicians

  • Registered as a Family Physician with HPCSA

  • Minimum 2 accredited publications

  • at least 1 years' teaching experience

  • Experience in the implementation of Community Oriented Primary Care.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

  • The ability to teach undergraduate and post-graduate students;

  • Research skills to inter alia search on the internet and find evidence-based solutions;

  • Proficiency in the clinical skills and medical knowledge in the field of Primary Health Care as applicable to COPC and AITA Health.

  • Appropriate language and communication skills that are essential for effective interaction with a diverse clientele;

  • Interpersonal conflict management skills and the ability to work under pressure;

  • Ability to delegate tasks and adhere to deadlines;

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

  • Experience in the development and implementation of Mobile Health in primary health care;

  • A Code 10 Drivers licence;

  • Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel);

The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
