The Department of Anaesthesiology provides anaesthesia for all surgical procedures along with acute and chronic pain management services. The Department has a mix of skilled anaesthesiologists and highly trained anaesthesia technicians and nursing staff. It is committed to delivering compassionate, ethical, accessible and high quality care to all patients requiring anaesthesia and pain services.

Anaesthesiology has a strong academic portfolio including undergraduate and postgraduate training programmes. It is also actively involved in hospital and community based research.

Responsibilities

You will provide dynamic leadership to the department and will have overall responsibility for the conduct of its academic, research, and service mandate consistent with the mission and policies of AKU and AKUH, inclusive of its secondary hospitals and other outreach facilities incorporated within the Hospital.

Requirements

You must have suitable post-graduate medical qualifications with extensive academic track record of publications and securing grants preferably from extramural sources, along with clinical, administrative and leadership experience in a teaching hospital.
