Job Details
The School seeks to recruit lecturers in law to join our thriving academic environment and contribute to research and teaching therein. We are looking for candidates with strong research potential and an ability and willingness to teach in any of the following subjects: Land Law, Trusts, Criminal Law, Company Law, and Commercial Law (broadly understood, including eg Intellectual Property, Information Technology, Banking and Finance etc).
Applicants should have a completed PhD or equivalent in law, or to be close to completion by the post start date and have a strong honours degree at undergraduate level in law or a law-related subject or equivalent. Applicants should also have demonstrable ability to produce excellent research leading to publications of 3* or 4* quality by REF2014 standards; a planned trajectory of high quality publications over the period up to REF2021; demonstrable experience of successful teaching or tutoring at university level or equivalent; and an ability and willingness to teach in other areas of the curriculum at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
The posts are available from 1 September 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. The posts available are full time, however the School is open to requests for part time working.
The posts are located on Pathway One and will be appointed at either Profile Level b (Lecturer, grade J) or Profile level c (Lecturer, grade K) of the University’s Academic Pathways, depending on the relevant experience of the successful candidates.
The closing date for applications is 23:59 on 2 July 2017. It is expected that the final selection process will be held mid – late July 2017.
