We are looking to recruit an experienced Planned Giving Officer to work with our incoming Director of Advancement and as part of our driven Development team.

The position will lead the development of our committed Hughes Bequest Society and will also have capacity to work on the development and solicitation of major philanthropic gifts.

With a compassionate nature, and genuine affection for the University and Hughes Bequest Society program, the Planned Giving Officer will develop strong relationships and rapport with donors, as the key contact and coordinator of the program.

The Planned Giving Officer also works across the University, to showcase a range of exceptional opportunities for donors to make a transformational difference in the lives of our students, and in ensuring donations to the university’s research and facilities are well managed.

The successful candidate will be an energetic and experienced fundraising professional, with demonstrated experience in the field of planned giving. Strong organisational skills and structured thinking combined with high level of computer literacy will enable you to take a pivotal role growing the Hughes Bequest Society - a program which will have a lasting benefit for the University community for many generations to come.

Salary: (HEO7) salary to be negotiated commensurate with experience.

Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% applies.

Term of position: This continuing position is available immediately. 

Position requirements

To be successful you should have: 

  • Demonstrated experience in the development of successful planned giving programs, and/or significant relevant experience personally soliciting and stewarding philanthropic gifts in a similar environment.

  • Relevant experience in the use of philanthropic CRM to track, manage and report on planned giving programs and donor engagement activities.

  • A demonstrated commitment to working as part of a successful fundraising team, with examples of previous team work in meeting KPIs and personal/professional values.

  • A demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation, processes and procedures as they relate to Planned Giving Programs.
