The Unit employs trial managers, trial coordinators, data managers, statisticians and regulatory staff. It has a close relationship with the Research Design Service South Central office in the Faculty of Medicine and with other registered Trials Units across the UK. We manage several high quality multi-centre clinical trials that will directly influence routine clinical practice, and we have close links with the MRC Clinical Trials Unit, London. The Unit is core funded by Cancer Research UK and has CTU support funding from the NHS National Institute for Health Research and is based at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust.

We have an exciting opportunity to work within the clinical trials unit. You will work with the Senior Statistician and the trial teams and will take responsibility for trial analysis plans and interim and final trial analyses while developing expertise in study design and grant application writing. Candidates should have suitable experience in statistics or another relevant discipline. In addition, you should be familiar with either STATA or SAS, have good communication skills, possess initiative, and be able to work effectively within a team.

The position is available on a 1 year fixed-term contract in the first instance. The salary offered within the range will depend on experience. The post is available on a full time basis and will be based within SCTU at Southampton General Hospital.
