The Global Commercial Learning Commercial Capability Program Manager works in partnership with key business stakeholders and the Commercial Capability L&D team, to identify capability interdependencies across the commercial end to end process and align Learning resources ensuring consistency and a shared vision of success for all GHH Capability L&D endeavors. This person will drive cross functional collaboration strategies required to build commercial capabilities for Merck/MSDs future. The Learning Partner supports the development of critical capabilities aligned by divisional/functional Leaders and Learning Leaders globally through consultation and delivery of appropriate learning solutions that enhance Merck/MSDs ability to achieve business results.

This role requires the ability to manage complex projects through realization, develop credibility and trust with the business as a trusted partner and is integral in developing skills and capabilities across our organization that result in an agile, flexible and efficient workforce who will thrive in the future environment.

Responsibilities:

- Consulting with Functional Program Leads and their business leaders to develop deep stakeholder understanding of strategic capability requirements and drive greater consistency across the organization

- Providing organizational clarity on future direction for peers and using this understanding informs activities, shapes the strategic capability offerings and co-creates solutions that deliver measurable outcomes

- Identifying strategic capability requirements for specific roles and functions within the organization to enhance our cross functional awareness and collaboration

- Provides thought leadership on commercial capability principles, processes and practices

- Acts as Integration lead across the Commercial Capabilities L&D team: driving integrated learning strategies and connecting those within the broader GHH L&D portfolio management

- Makes rapid and thoughtful decisions, validates strategic direction, keeps key business stakeholders informed and provides recommendations for investments

- Works closely with L&D Capability Leader to ensure decisions are rationalized with program level plans

- Ensure clarity exists among work streams (e.g., assumptions, milestones, interdependencies)

- Frames tradeoff choices that need to be vetted through the program governance structure

- Working with work stream leads to ensure Program milestones are delivered, while ensuring a positive client experience

- Drives knowledge transfer, cross-functional collaboration, integration and utilization of all internal resources (Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Legal and Compliance, Policy, HR, Learning Services, etc.) to identify multi-functional solutions, complex and/or innovative methodologies and technologies that appeal to the modern learner

- Act as a liaison between the Learning Support Services function and stakeholders to ensure alignment with learning needs; Ensure learning solutions created meet the requirements of the client; Identify alternate non-training solutions when appropriate

- Applies advanced understanding of existing Commercial Learning and Development solutions and evaluation methodologies to align cross-functional outcomes, analyze and communicate the effectiveness of solutions and make recommendations on opportunities to improve.

- Remain current on learning and development related tools, techniques, strategies and practices in order to provide relevant, informed consultative advice to clients; share leading learning practices with teams and stakeholders

- L&D Policies, Standards, and Procedures: Knowledge of and ability to use industry and organization standards, procedures, and policies relevant to staff learning and development

- Adult Learning: Theory and Practice: Advanced experience in applying concepts and practices of adult learning to meet the dynamic needs of the business

- Learning Needs Analysis: Advanced experience in assessing competency gaps and identifying what people need to learn for successful individual and organizational performance

- Training Delivery: Ability to effectively deliver or facilitate training in face-to-face and virtual instructor led sessions

- Deploy capabilities with fully developed change management plans

Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree
Required:

- Strong Commercial/Business Acumen with a minimum of 10 years of related commercial/professional experience, with minimum 5 years of leadership experience

- Capabilities required to ensure realization of the business strategy (i.e., people, process, technology ;) Experience in applicable technical/professional areas pertinent to the division / function served (e.g., sales/marketing/market access, etc.)
Preferred:

- Experience facilitating / delivering learning solutions

- Knowledge of the commercial landscape, Go to Markets strategies, and critical capabilities required for MSDs future success

- Detailed understanding and experience facilitating MSD’s existing Commercial learning and development offerings.

- Experience in the areas of learning, talent, HR, or comparable areas;
