A London based Local Authority is looking to take on 3 Newly Qualified Social Workers onto their ASYE programme offering you the opportunity to take your first steps as a Social Worker. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high performing Local Authority where caseloads are kept to a manageable level meaning you are not going to be over burdened so that you can really focus on your development and training.

To give you an example for the first 2 weeks of employment you will not be expected to carry a caseload; in the 3 months following this your caseload will increase to around 10 and in the 6 months following this your caseload will be gradually increased to around 15. To support you throughout this time period you will be receiving fortnightly case supervision, regular meetings with the ASYE Coordinator, critical analysis and reflection sessions with your ASYE Assessor and a range of training courses.

This is an opportunity with a largely stable Local Authority where the majority of staff are employed on a permanent basis which is why caseloads are able to be kept low. Furthermore the Management and Senior Management team are all long standing employees of the LA and have been in post for a number of years again highlighting the stability of Social Services.
