Job Details

Can you provide technical support to research projects and do you have extensive laboratory experience which includes skills in cell and tissue culture, molecular biology and/or murine studies in metabolic sciences?

Based within a research team led by Dr Lee Roberts your role, funded by a Diabetes UK RD Lawrence Fellowship, will be to advance the understanding of adipose tissue physiology. More specifically, through your ability to work independently and as part of a team, you will be given an opportunity to contribute to work which aims to profoundly advance understanding of the anti-diabetic and anti-obesity effects of metabolite signals originating from adipose tissue.

With at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a biological or biomedical discipline you will have a strong interest in, and demonstrable experience in, studies of adipose tissue, skeletal muscle or liver metabolism, and/or relevant biochemical, cell biology and molecular biology methods and complementary techniques. You will have the ability to work safely with due consideration for your own health and safety and that of others.  In addition you will also have the demonstrated ability to plan, manage and deliver timely outputs from research projects and undertake murine studies if appropriate, fully cooperating with associated legal requirements.
