CSIRO

This position has been created through a joint initiative between AIBN and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation’s (CSIRO) Probing Biosystems Future Science Platform (FSP). The Probing Biosystems FSP is an investment in science to ensure the delivery of innovative medical technology placing CSIRO and AIBN at the forefront in creating the future of healthcare for the 21st century.

The role

The Senior Group Leader is a senior academic that will lead and develop an internationally competitive research program in the area of Precision Nanomedicine and have the capacity to collaborate with AIBN's other Senior Group Leaders in this area. Senior Group Leaders show exemplary leadership in mentoring, capacity building and building collaborations across industry, research organisations and disciplines. They are core members of AIBN and are expected to show a wholehearted commitment to the Institute’s pursuit for research excellence and translation for the benefit of society. 

The person

You will be an internationally recognised exceptional researcher that leads a competitive research program in the field of Precision Nanomedicine and will have the capacity to collaborate with AIBN’s other Senior Group Leaders in this area. You should possess a PhD in Nanomedicine, Materials Science, Bioengineering, Chemistry or a related discipline with a proven record of outstanding research and innovation. You will have a visionary research agenda in Precision Nanomedicine with demonstrated exceptional management and leadership capabilities in developing and mentoring early/mid-career researchers and PhD students. Demonstrated track record of securing and sustaining substantial financial support from external sources, translation of science and experience in the commercial development of research including long-term commercial contracts and award of patents is essential.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for up to five (5) years at Research Academic Level E. The remuneration package will be $175,070 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17%. Total package will be $198,866 p.a. The successful applicant with be provided with a highly competitive international startup support package.
