As Team Leader you will be responsible for the operational management of applications and admissions to a number of university faculties (currently the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering). This will include managing, motivating, training and developing a team of Admissions Assistants. You will manage Admissions Service support for departments within the relevant faculties and oversee the delivery of a high quality service. In addition, you will monitor admissions procedures to ensure the continued delivery of consistent and efficient admissions and to ensure that your team follows best admissions practice in line with the Admissions Service as a whole. You and your team will be expected to support areas of admissions work outside your ‘home’ faculties when the overarching needs of the Service necessitate this. You will liaise regularly with other Team Leaders, Officers and Managers within the Admissions Service to ensure that workload is monitored and dealt with effectively across the Service as a whole. You will act as the main liaison point of day-to-day liaison between the Admissions Service and the faculties for which your team is primarily responsible, and will represent the Admissions Service at relevant faculty meetings. You will also be responsible for providing advice and guidance to applicants, conducting fee status assessments and providing support to the Admissions Managers, assuming delegated responsibility when necessary.
