The University of Sheffield working in partnership with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has developed a Florey Advanced Fellowship in Infectious Diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who has the ambition to be amongst the next generation of world-leading academic clinicians. Applications are now invited for a fixed-term Florey Advanced Fellowship in Infectious Diseases to commence as soon as possible for three years. The Fellowship is an 80:20 (academic:clinical) post for post-CCT physicians accredited in Infectious Diseases. Successful candidates will be expected to have high impact publications in the field and a well-developed research plan to include the submission of external applications within the first year. Full GMC registration is required, together with Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) or equivalent. Applicants should hold a CCT in Infectious Diseases in combination with either general Internal medicine or with Microbiology/Virology. The post holder(s) will be expected to fulfil clinical commitments within the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust including contributing to the on-call rota at Consultant level and contributing to general or specialist ID clinics as best suits their academic programme. They will also have an academic base in the Florey Institute and the University Department of Infection, Immunity and Cardiovascular Disease and their research will be expected to align with the Florey Institute’s strategic direction.
