Job Details
Job Purpose
To create and contribute to the creation of knowledge by leading a medically-oriented research programme associated with the accelerators based in the School of Physics and Astronomy. Through these activities to develop strong collaborative links between UoB and the Metrology for Medical Physics and other teams at the National Physical Laboratory.
Person Specification • The role is joint with the National Physical Laboratory, so will require particular effort to establish the working pattern between the two sites
• Develop an area of research while complying with all legal and ethical guidance associated with this research
Skills and Experience (as appropriate to the specific role and purpose)
• First degree in Physics and a higher degree relevant to research area or equivalent qualifications
• Track-record of successful independent research and grant proposals
• Strong publication record with highly cited publications
• Strong presentation skills
• High level analytical capability
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly
• Fluency in relevant models, techniques or methods and ability to contribute to developing new ones
• Ability to assess resource requirements and use resources effectively
• Understanding of and ability to contribute to broader management/ administration processes
