Job Details

At the University of Bristol Careers Service, we are passionate about helping our students get to where they want to be when they graduate.

It’s an exciting place to be, with the Service receiving investment for expansion and the university implementing its new strategy and launching Bristol Futures. This position is advertised as a result of the recent investment.

We are looking for people who want to help us as we progress. We are experts in what we do, and we do a lot. Across our teams, our programme involves central delivery as well as faculty and employer engagement. Our activities include running the successful Bristol PLUS Award, delivering a range of curricular and co-curricular sessions in the academic schools, and establishing a new WP mentoring scheme.

We also engage with hundreds of employers each year, both large graduate recruiters (we’re the third most targeted UK institution by Times Top 100 employers) through our fairs, as well as local SMEs with our UoB Internship Scheme and work of our newly-established Enterprise and SME Team.

With investment and expansion comes opportunities for innovation. If you want to work at a Service that is growing and developing all the time, join us at Bristol.

The Faculty Employability Consultant role will work in our respected Faculty Employability Team.

You will work with the Faculty of Arts and be responsible for managing the Careers Service's professional employability support there. You will be creative, self-motivated and have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

Leading on the Service's Employability Partnership Agreements with the schools in the Faculty, you will interpret and analyse the available data, work with the Faculty Employability Manager and contacts in schools to determine priorities, and use your experience to design and deliver appropriate activities.

You will be an excellent communicator who will establish and maintain effective working relationships with academics and colleagues in the Faculty to work credibly with them. You will be highly organised with experience of managing your own workload and the different demands that may be placed upon it, whether they be relationship development, delivery of activities to students or other elements of the role. As line manager to a Faculty Employability Adviser (to be recruited in the next academic year), you will also know how to develop others and will actively contribute to the team's development and success.

If you are looking for a varied role as part of a dynamic team that works with faculties to help students get to where they want to be, get in touch today.

For informal enquiries, please contact Dr Hannah Pearce, Faculty Employability Manager: 0117 954 6819, hannah.pearce@bristol.ac.uk
