As a member of U.S. IAM Strategic Insights team, the Senior Specialist works closely with Segment Strategy leads to develop above-brand promotional resources for use by the IAM Account Executives across a range of customer types, such as IDS, Employer, Hospital System, Post Acute, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. This individual will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as account teams, communications, legal/medical and vendors in the development, approval and on-going maintenance of resources to support segment strategies.

This position is responsible for but not limited to the following:

- Responsible for the development of promotion and communications materials aligned with segment strategy and within regulatory & Merck policy Partner with the strategy leads, account teams and assigned agencies to ensure resources and messaging met business objectives
- Works collaboratively with multiple teams supporting promotion, including the Market Research, IAM Operations and Learning & Development
- Lead all promotion review activities for assigned resources including:

- Participate in all development meetings as well as concept reviews
- Manage development and approvals through Promotion Review processes
- Work with attorneys in the approval of materials for all assigned brands
- Manage all Agency partners in order to achieve successful marketing promotion & communication plans
- Interface with point Account Executives through appropriate channels in order to obtain feedback and insight into segment resources and communications
- Provide project management planning and support for Segment Strategy team as needed
- Participate in annual planning activities 
- Ensure all activities are in full compliance with appropriate regulations and company policies

Qualifications

Education:

- Required: BA/BS Degree
- Preferred: MBA or other advanced degree

Required:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Sales, Marketing and / or Operations related field
- Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated multi-project management skills
- Strong collaboration skills and proficient in building strong relationships; working in a team environment with multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors and maintains alignment to Merck compliance goals and policies

Preferred:

- Experience with sales, marketing or promotion development within pharmaceutical industry
- Experience tracking / monitoring budgets
- Experience with vendor management
