Within the Business School, the Graduate School of Management (GSM) delivers the MBA, Postgraduate Diploma, and Business Masters programmes as well as Executive Education programmes. Executive Education helps over 2,000 professionals annually to improve their individual and organisational performance in both the private and public sectors. We offer a comprehensive range of short courses and tailored learning programmes for professionals and managers at all levels to help them achieve business and personal growth. Over 53,000 professionals have attended and benefited from our programmes since 1996. Our programmes improve the management, leadership, performance and competitiveness of both private and public sector organisations and individuals across New Zealand.

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Director Executive Education to provide strategic leadership to the Executive Education team and help position The University of Auckland Business School at the forefront of Executive Education in the Asia Pacific Region. 

This key appointment will see you lead the development and delivery of strategic and operational activities for the Executive Education team and requires the following expertise:

  • Senior management and commercial experience, ideally with a background in Learning and Development or Organisational Development;
  • Proven people management and leadership skills gained in a large and complex environment;
  • An understanding of global and local Executive Education trends to enable innovation and continuous improvement in programme design and delivery;
  • Business development experience with the ability to grow the Executive Education offering in line with commercial and strategic objectives;  
  • A significant and relevant network at senior levels within the NZ corporate business community;
  • A consultative and collaborative approach with a natural ability to build lasting stakeholder relationships and partnerships;
  • Skilled in the areas of financial and commercial management;
  • A highly effective communication style.
