Senior Functional Analyst

The Senior Functional Analyst identifies, defines and converts business requirements into recommendation and systems design for commercial off the shelf and bespoke applications at the University of Queensland.  

You’ll have significant experience in business analysis and requirements gathering and the demonstrated ability to design IT solutions and develop process mapping, data and systems documentation.  It works closely with University stakeholders, the various architects within ITS and the Infrastructure and Identity team to ensure effective delivery and support of applications.

Duties include:

• Undertake analysis of business processes with key stakeholders, investigating operational requirements, problems and opportunities, and identifying alternate solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes.
• Assess feasibility and recommend new approaches to meet customer requirements, translating business requirements into system specifications.
• Prepare business cases including, Invitations to Offer and other procurement documentation.
• Prepare high level design documentation.
• Undertake project management of significant information technology projects, including negotiation and liaison with stakeholders at senior levels and that appropriate change management processes are undertaken.
• Undertake continuous improvement activities within the team to ensure services are delivered more efficiently and provide support to stakeholders through appropriate change management activities.

The Remuneration package for the full-time fixed term position will be HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,811.16- $104, 214.40 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.25%.
