Graduate Teaching Technologist for the Merchant Venturers School of Engineering

Job Details

The Merchant Venturers School of Engineering is seeking to appoint a full-time Graduate Teaching Technologist (GTT).

Supporting the Department of Computer Science, the main objective of the role is to enable students to “do interesting and creative things in relation to the curriculum”.

The Graduate Teaching Technologist (GTT) will work closely with the Senior Teaching Technologist to shape the way the school supports students’ project based learning and their experiences in developing new technologies. The GTT will also work in partnership with leading academics to encourage and enable exciting teaching practices to happen. Most importantly, the GTT will exercise initiative and pragmatism to help bring ambitious ideas to life.

The GTT will support students undertaking demanding curricular projects by providing encouragement, technical advice and specialist tooling. This is a demanding and varied role, and day to day may include: advising students on scoping the coding behind an amazing app idea; designing, prototyping and building cutting-edge teaching tools; being a main point of contact within the specialised project spaces; managing and maintaining resources associated with innovative teaching; working with academics and Professional Team members on improving the student experience…and many other things!

This post is being offered on a full time, fixed term, 1yr contract.

It is anticipated that interviews will take place shortly after the closing date.

For informal discussion about the post, you are welcome to contact:
