Job Details

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Imperial College London, UK, has two vacancies for academic posts a Fluid Mechanics. Whilst the positions are open to candidates working in all branches of Civil Engineering Fluid Mechanics, but there is a preference to appoint in areas relating to Coastal Engineering, Marine Renewables, Sediment Transport, Marine Hydrodynamics and Fluid-Structure interactions. The Department is seeking highly able, enthusiastic and well-motivated applicants wishing to make a career in one of Europe's leading teaching and research Institutions. The post will be hosted within the Fluid Mechanics Section (http://www.imperial.ac.uk/fluid-mechanics) which has world-class laboratory facilities.

Applications are invited from individuals with a strong academic record (including a relevant PhD or equivalent) in the above noted subject areas; the intention being that at least one of the successful applicants will have a background in laboratory based experimental research.  Applicants must have a track record of very high quality research, demonstrated by recent exceptional publications in internationally leading journals. Applicants are required to submit together with their application, their 4 best journal papers published to date. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and to play a leading role in developing the Fluid Mechanics Section’s research in the relevant area, building on and extending our current activities.
