We are seeking to appoint a highly experienced Research Technician to work as part of a team investigating the genomic and molecular characteristics of neuroendocrine cancer (NETs). The Principal Investigator is Professor Cristin Print, and the project is based at laboratories within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland.

Who are we looking for?

  • The successful applicant will have a Masters degree and extensive experience in molecular biology research techniques.

  • You will have experience in undertaking lab-based experiments involving DNA and RNA extraction and analysis.

  • You will understand the need to abide by regulations pertaining to working in a containment facility, and biological safety regulations.

  • You must have the ability to work independently and be able to congenially liaise with other members of the research team to meet research goals.

  • You will be responsible for meeting project goals as agreed with the project PI.

This role provides the opportunity to be part of a broad collaborative research team, including clinicians, biologists statisticians and clinical register experts.

Professional Staff Level 4.

The position is available on either a full or part-time (minimum 0.6 FTE) basis, for a 12 month fixed-term contract.
