Job Details
Teach a variety of beverage management courses with differing modes of instruction, lecture, technology, demonstration and practical application, presenting the course materials in a manner that educates and engages students.
Instruct classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
Advise and assist students in educational and career development.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, businesses, and other educational partners.
Pursue professional development.
Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
Participate in departmental activity to recruit overseas students, both inbound and outbound, when needed.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of F&B industry experience.
One (1) year of teaching experience (full or part time) or two years in a food service management position where one of the primary functions of job was to train employees.
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
An in-depth knowledge in wines and , mixiology, background in differing food service styles, experience in dining room service, food production, cash controls procedures and food and beverage controls.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite including; Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in teaching in higher educational institutions
Current ServSafe Certified.
Current Techniques of Alcohol Management Certified.
Direct experience with a Point of Sale System.
Knowledge of current trends in the food and beverage industry.
Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
Demonstrated commitment to student learning. Experience using a variety of teaching and assessment techniques - including the use of technology - that enhance student success.
Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and economically diverse backgrounds.
