Job Details

Post-doc position will be devoted to study of fundamental bounds and optimal protocols in quantum metrology in presence of realistic noise models in optical and atomic systems both in single and multiparamter problems as well as investigations of connections between quantum metrology and quantum thermodynamics.

Post-doc position will be financed under the project “Photonic, Atomic and Thermodynamic Processes from a Quantum Metrological Perspective” financed by the Polish National Science Center under SONATA BIS programme.

Main research tasks of the project involve:

  • Fundamental bounds in multiparameter estimation in optical systems including the problems of optical interferometry and imaging

  • Atomic interferometry in presence of natural physical constraints taking into account many-body effects


The candidate should:

 

  • hold a PhD degree in the field of physics obtained not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project

  • have research experience in theoretical quantum information and quantum metrology

  • have significant scientific publication record

  • speak very good English

  • experience in supervising research of younger colleagues/students is welcomed
