Job Details
The School of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) covers research and teaching across politics, international relations and global development, and while you may have a primary academic identity you will work across the School as a whole and to show understanding of mixed methods research and teaching. As a research active academic, you will maintain a strong research and publication record, and to contribute to the School’s research activities and research culture. You will be expected to deliver undergraduate and taught postgraduate modules in appropriate subject areas, as well as supervising BA and MA dissertations, and to recruit and supervise PhD candidates.
You will carry out research, teaching and management within the school, faculty and university and to contribute to academic leadership in the field of research methods with specific emphasis on quantitative methods.
You will have a first degree and a doctorate in Global Development, Politics, International Relations or a relevant allied discipline (this includes work submitted for assessment, but not yet examined) and expertise in research methods, including quantitative methods. You will also have experience of contributing to the effective delivery of teaching and be able to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
