We are looking for an experienced professional to lead our Applications Support team.

The position will be responsible for ensuring quality and reliable delivery of library technology systems and services. This includes the support for cloud and locally hosted applications providing resource management, digital asset management, discovery, authentication, archival and preservation functions. The role also has oversight of digitisation programmes as well as the relationships with external vendors and internal service providers.

The person we are seeking will have a qualification or experience equivalent in Computer Science, or Information Systems. Extensive application support experience, covering a range of platforms, technologies, and functional domains, including UNIX/Linux, relational database (SQL) servers and content management systems is essential. Knowledge of current trends, developments and standards for library technologies would be an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
Effective people management and motivation skills are essential as is a proven ability to plan and manage projects within an environment of continuous change.

Any knowledge of university libraries would also be highly valued but not essential as we would expect the successful applicant to gain this knowledge over time.
