This opportunity as Department Leader is a step into senior management with responsibility for all Applications Development in the EMEA focused on Flexographic Inks. With responsibility for a team of 15 people split into two management levels, with 4 direct reports and 11 indirect reports, you will get the opportunity to develop higher-level management skills and the opportunity to develop the Team Leaders under your guidance to help get the best out of the whole department which will a massive asset when looking to progress in seniority in the future.

A large part of your role will focus around managing the portfolio of projects for new and existing technology & product development, prioritising all projects assigned to your teams, developing the customer portfolio, preparing product offers in collaboration with the Sales team and keeping a close on technology trends in the industry, so your role will require considerable networking within the Flexographic Inks industry, allowing you to further develop your network and to make yourself the go-to contact in this sector.

Responsibilites:

  • Managing Applications Support, Development of the Customer Portfolio and defining Technical Product Specifications
  • Continuous development and optimization of the Flexographic Printing Inks portfolio
  • Preparation of product offers with the sales team
  • Prioritisation of laboratory projects within your business area
  • Laboratory Management focusing on project potential, costs, quality and time
  • Consistent development and progression planning for all Team Leaders and Applications Developers in your department
  • Regular international travel to other company sites and customers (up to 50%)

Requirements:

  • Academic Degree in Chemistry
  • At least 5 years experience in Development, Applications or Technical Service
  • Background in the Inks, Industrial Coatings or Pigments Industries essential
  • Proven leadership & direct management for at least 5 employees
  • C1 Level German, B2 Level Russian, B1 Level English essential (role is primarily German & Russian speaking)
